Hi there, my name is Sarah and I'm the founder of Saponify.
I'd like to tell you a little about how Saponify got started, and why we're so happy to bring our products to you.
I'd been suffering from dry skin and extreme eczema for years. Doctors prescriptions, creams, salves, special dry-skin formulated washes, nothing seemed to do anything to help my poor skin. I worked as a chef, so I was constantly washing my hands, and they were often left wanting for some love and care.
I had been using natural products for many years, and had been using goats milk soap in the shower as it was the only thing that seemed to not irritate my hands. What was confusing was the conflicting information available about soap. Major cosmetic companies told of how soap was drying, and supposedly left a film of soap on your skin. I was left wondering how something that was meant to be so bad for my skin, could in actual fact make my skin feel great.
I looked at the ingredients in the Goats Milk Soap. All identifiable and pronounceable, all things that I've seen before on the shelves of supermarkets and health food stores. I then in turn looked at the ingredients list for the over the counter products that are supposed to help my dry skin. I'd heard of less than half of the ingredients listed, and what I had heard of I wasn't sure I wanted on my skin anyway. In the end I decided to let my skin be the judge, and to let it tell me what it wanted.
This revelation is what made me try my hand at making my own soaps and skin care products. Keeping it simple, and as close to nature as possible. All of our products are specially formulated to be gentle on the skin. Our products are packed with rich, nourishing oils and plant butters. Our body butters and face creams are scented with all natural essential oils.
All Saponify products are lovingly handmade by one woman in Sydney, Australia.
We test everything on ourselves, our families and our friends. You can be sure that when you buy a product from Saponify it's had the seal of approval from numerous happy human guinea pigs!
